The life lessons you will wish you learned sooner
Life is a full bucket of fun, enjoyment, heartbreaks, experiences, failures, learnings and healing. Our life's bucket keeps loading as we grow older, as we gain experiences, as we learn to live or survive unbearable situations.
But, what we forget is that… we need to offload our bucket from time to time, so it can be carried easily.
Unless it becomes so heavy that we need to drag it rather than carrying it on our shoulders, while enjoying the view from our beautiful journey.
But, we remember only to load the bucket and often forget about reducing the load or offloading the things we no longer need.
And how can we offload our bucket of life?
The answer to this question is that… . By learning life lessons. As soon as you learn these lessons your life will be easy, smooth and stress free.
Life lessons that one needs to learn to live a beautiful and satisfactory life.
1.You cannot control everything and everyone
Sometimes things happen, despite how much you have given. Some situations are beyond your control. The outcome has not turned out how you expected. This reminds us of the unpredictable nature of life.
Along with this you cannot control everyone around you. People are different. They think, behave and take action differently. They react as per their own conscience, you have nothing to control.
Remember “ Let go of what you can't control.”
2.Your reaction determine your life
Your whole life revolves around one single thing or action.
How do you react?
To problems, to situations, to failures, to heartbreaks, to relationships and to your struggles.
Your reaction is everything. It determines the course of your life. For example if you are struggling right now in building your business. You have two possibilities..
One… . Take struggle as the process that is building you, strengthening you. Your reaction to struggle is optimistic. You believe in your abilities and you know that you will succeed.
While the other possibility… is that you take your struggles negatively. You believe that struggles have become a never ending cycle in your life. You doubt yourself and your success. Here your reaction is pessimistic.
In both the scenarios you are the leader. So, why shouldn't you accept the life currents and learn that you yourself and your reaction is responsible for your life.
As early as you learned this… it will be better for you. Because it not only reduces pressure to be in the rat race but also teaches you to respond in life.
3. Don't expect anything from anyone
Your expectations steal the joy of your lives. Your expectations make your existence others business. Where fulfillment of your expectations become key to your success, your wealth, your relationships, happiness and your peace of mind.
And neglect of your expectations proves to be dampening for you and your so-called existence.
That's why… beware of your expectations. You are not supposed to give your life's remote control in another person's hand by expecting too much.
When you have fewer expectations from anyone, your real freedom begins.
Learn this life lesson before becoming a puppet of your expectations.
Your freedom lies within you.
4.Don’t live for validation
Let go of validations in your life. Don't look for appraisals or appreciations. If you want to work hard… then do it. If you want to go far… then go. If you want to be happy.. then be happy.
Remember, not everyone wants your happiness, success and peace. Then why would they validate your efforts?
Even though the world is full of good people, but not your surroundings. People are hypocrites. Their behavior is polar opposites. They are different from the inside.
Thus, focus on your goals, do whatever you want to… but don't seek validations.
This is what I learnt in my 20s and during my tough phases of life.
5.Do not be emotionally dependent
Being emotionally dependent on others is the worst thing I have done to myself. I used to survive on the comfort of others in my struggling period.
One thing that I fail to realize is that “ You are only one for your emotional support.” People or rather I would say your near or dear ones can provide emotional support on a temporary basis.
They are going to pass like a cool breeze of wind in your summer.
Ultimately, you yourself have to survive the extremely cold and warm seasons of your life by yourself.
Hence, learn to survive in your own emotional shield rather than taking shelter in others comforts.
6.Stop hurting yourself
Buddhist philosophy believes that we get hurt only once physically, but uncountable times mentally. Drastic events in our life occur only once. But we keep replaying those events in our mind and keep hurting ourselves.
So, bring out yourself from the cycle of hurting. Remember events happen, but you are not supposed to sit upon them. You can't undone what has been done, you can't bring back the time. So, it's better to take lessons from it and move forward.
7. Let go of your failures
Your failures do not define you. Failures do not determine your worth. You are much bigger and more capable than your failures.
Take your failures as important life lessons. Take them as a training ground that is preparing you for a bigger cause. Treat them as a learning experience.
The more easily you let go of your failures, the more effortlessly you move upward in your life.
Remember failures are stepping stones in your success. They are speed breakers not the your destinations.
8.Don’t waste your time in overthinking
We often waste so much energy and time overthinking over tiny matters. Or the things that are going to be irrelevant tomorrow.
This is what I learned from my life. I used to overthink a lot, whether it could be about my career or about my loved ones.
But, one thing I forgot … . You are the hero of your own story. Similarly, others are also heroes of their own story. And their focus is on themselves, not on you.
So, be carefree… you don't have to be attentive all the time.
The sooner you learn this… the simpler your life will be.

9.There is nothing called ideal in life
Whether it could be people, career, success and relationships. Whatever it is…nothing is ideal. The picture of an ideal life you have created in your mind is supposed to be broken. It is just a matter of time.
So, be prepared for the destruction of your castle. Because the earlier and more you prepare. Lesser the pain you will experience.
This lesson…I found to be the most relatable in my own life.
10. You are not going to found happiness at your destination
15 things you must do to live a happier life
Now it's your turn to learn these lessons and live a meaningful life.
It's never too late to start again. It's never too late to learn important life lessons. Don't burden yourself for the mistakes you have committed. Don't hold your failures tightly.
If you want to hold something then hold your “faith” in yourself, trust the timing of life.
Till then let go of your controlling instinct, loosen your grip on your life. And keep loading good things in your life's bucket and offloading bad.
