Once in a metro I was sitting near an uncle who was talking about his life. He spends his whole life in a job and responsibilities. Now, after his retirement he is doing things that he wanted to do when he was young….. That is travelling. But now he is facing limitations due to his age, but still he wanted to go as far as possible. 

            This story tells us… life is all about choices, you can start whenever you want, but it is better to start early. 

And you shouldn't be afraid or feel ashamed to live a life of your choice, despite job and responsibilities.

 For that you have to have courage to follow your convictions and have guts to do what makes you happy. 

Here, you have to do things for yourself.  And it is your responsibility to live a happy and contentful life. 

These are certain practices you can follow or can do for yourself… . 

1.Forgive yourself and others

Forgive yourself for the mistakes you had made in the past. It's okay to make a mistake. We all are people, nobody is perfect. Same goes with others… . 

Forgiveness means having peace within. It is the best gift you can give yourself for our own growth and to enjoy life fully. Forgiveness reduces burden and takes you on the path of a happy and healthy life. 

2.Pamper yourself

If you want love or want to spread love, then start with yourself. You should not be afraid of pampering yourself. Take yourself on a date, have nice food, do skin care, … . Much more. 

Remember you are the one for yourself, We got only one life. It's your responsibility to love yourself. 

So, take a day out with yourself. 

3.Take solo trips occasionally

Traveling is the perfect way to find yourself. Explore yourself and the places, gain experience and practical knowledge. Traveling gives us real life experiences over bookish knowledge. 

Traveling broadens our horizons, it teaches us to look beyond our limitations, from where the real and happy life begins. 

4.Think less, live more

Don't overthink over small matters, don't stress about anything… Life is all about living. 

To live a happy a life, one has to believe more in doing than thinking. Life is too short to waste time on thinking… if you feel like doing anything, just do it. 

Live more, live fully. 

5.Track your time

Keep a small journal to track your time. Make sure to use your time productively and for yourself. 

 By doing this you can save your time for your own growth and development.

It gives a bizarre sense of achievement that makes you happy. 

6.Protect your ego

Leave the room where you're not respected. Never ever demand respect from anyone. Remember respect is earned not demanded.

Do not beg for love. Do not force anyone to stay in your life. Those who wanna leave will leave you for no reason. 

Protecting ego means respecting yourselves. It will give you a different level of happiness. 

7.Don’t be too good

Save your goodness for yourself. People exploit or use our goodness for their interest. You don't need to become maseeha for everyone. 

Be good to yourself. Never talk bad about yourself. Never criticize yourself for being wrong, for committing mistakes.

8.Learn to say no without guilt

Never be ashamed of saying no to people, their opinions or any situation that downplayes you. Don't feel guilty about it. It's your life and it's your choice… do what you want to do, speak what you feel right, perform what you think necessary. 

9.Stop giving explanation

Stop giving explanation, people believe what they want to, those who believe you, will never ask for explanation. 

Also never give an explanation to live your life fully and happily. To live your dreams and to chase your drives. 

Always keep your life's staring in your own hands. This is what real happiness is. 

10.Follow 80/20 rule in life

This is also called pareto principal. Means our 80% of outcome comes from 20% of efforts. This is a tool to bring out most from the least. It is applicable to most of our day to day actions like studies, workplace and also in our relationships. 

This will not only save our energy and time but also makes us more productive, efficient and fast. 

Remember we have to live smart in the era of hustle- bustle. This is a perfect tool for happy and stress free day to day life. 

11.Listen to your heart

Living a life that your heart permits is a blessing. Because everyone lives, but not everyone enjoys life or live it authentically and happily. 

In this materialistic world we have lost ourselves and also our heart. We follow what the mind says. 

Thus, take a pause and listen to your heart. This is a way to your happiness

12.Always prefer growth mindset over fixed mindset

In life we should value more to our effort and learning over setbacks and failures. This is what a growth mindset is. 

While a fixed mindset is all about inborn talent and setback means you are good for nothing. This is one of the key reason for our stress and it also kills our happiness. 

See everything in our life as lessons, take small losses for big gains. This makes us happy in the long term and also gives strength to remain standstill during counter currents in life. 

13.Stop complaining, start accepting

There are so many things in our life to complain about. But complaining is not going to solve our problems. It will make things worse only. 

That's why start accepting, nothing is perfect. When you stop chasing perfection in life, your life becomes simpler and easier. 

14. Think good, good will happen

We attract what we think in our life. Our subconscious mind is always on duty. It shapes our realities on the basis of how we are pursuing our thoughts. 

Thus, think good, be happy and hopeful for success … . It will attract abundance and happiness in your life. Remember, only you have the ability to change your life. 

15.Start enjoying the things you love the most

Pursue your hobby, spend time with people you love, dress nicely and take a small walk in your neighborhood, make friends etc. 

Life is too small to live it monotonously. Break your chains and free yourself to live a happy and blessed life.
