Are you one of them? Who waits for a perfect moment to celebrate their wins, to be happy in life, to take their first solo trip, or to show their affection for their loved ones.  We all live this, we set certain milestones in our lives to enjoy life. We wait to achieve them first, till then say good bye to life or I must say to a fulfilling or happy life.  Even though for that, we have to wait for our whole life, then suddenly one day we realize that we waited all along to live a moment that is never going to come rather it was always with us.   Then we feel like we wasted all our lives in chasing milestones. Never thought that, these milestones are endless.  That's why, we ourselves have to steal some time for ourselves or to live a fulfilling, happy and contentful life.  So, never wait in life to live, never leave your happiness for tomorrow. Because, tomorrow never arrives.  Here, I am pointing out certain things you must do to live a fulfilling lif...

Say No to Nonsense: protect your peace, time and energy

Say No to Nonsense: To Protect your Peace, Time and Energy

In our lives we often care a lot about our image in front of others. “What will people say?” is becoming one of the main concerns nowadays. This sometimes leads us to engage in unnecessary, dramatic and exhausting situations. Where the outcome is not truly is of our concern.

We care more about others' opinions about ourselves, in between forgetting our own self. Never give a damn how much this is consuming our energy and time and peace.. And when it comes to our own matters. Our minds go blank. As our mind is too busy serving others.

We simply are not concerned about saving our energy and time for ourselves. And throw our time, peace and energy out of the window, as if our life is not ours, we are here on the earth to serve others.

This happens with each and every one of us on a regular basis. Because we care a lot and think a lot. This happens because we see our worth in saying yes to every situation and to people.

Here, I am not discussing that you should go completely in an isolated zone without caring about anyone or situations.

Of course, we have to be involved with people and situations which are concerns to us or our near or dear ones. We definitely have to solve their problems or issues and advise them in tough times.

But, this doesn't mean saying yes to everything and every situation.
Saying yes… costs us way more than saying no in life.

That's why saying no to nonsense is important so we can understand our own worth.

Why saying no to nonsense is that much difficult:
There are so many reasons to say yes, but to say no, there are few. Which are also in our minds than in real life. Still I tried to list out one of the main reasons for yesmanship as per my observation.

We care a lot about “ What they will think, if we refuse.
  • By saying no we might offend them.
  • We might lose respect and trust in their eyes.
  • We may lose their love and care about ourselves.
  • Fear of losing in relationships.
  • We often measure our worth in serving others, by saying no we lose our own worth… that's why.
  • We believe more in giving than receiving.
  • We want to present ourselves as responsible and caring person.

But, we always…always undermine the importance of saying no and feel guilty about living for ourselves.

Why you should say No to Nonsense…

1.To Our Protect Authenticity

When we say yes to people in every situation, we are becoming someone.. Who pretends to perform. But, his inner self is refusing the same.
We often become what others think of ourselves.

Then we lose our authenticity and become someone with whom we ourselves are not comfortable. This is happening with us as we are too available for others, ready to invest our peace, time and energy.

So, sometimes it becomes necessary to “Say no to Nonsense, to protect our original self and to maintain our authenticity. This will save us from becoming others and keeps our identity intact. Along with this, it also gives confidence for being your own self.

“We are what we are, no need of becoming others”.

2.To Shift Our Focus on the Things We value

Saying no to nonsense not only saves you from unnecessary drama and people, but also makes you more focused on yourself. It makes you more active and attentive towards your dreams, goals and towards the things you value most.

Because, saying yes often consumes our energy and time. We are less likely to focus on our goals, as our mind has limited capacity to process and which is also occupied by others. When we are too busy with others, we are less likely to achieve limitless growth and prosperity in our lives.

3. This will make Space the for Mindful life

By saying no to nonsense we not only preserve our peace, time and energy, but also get a lot of time to reflect. Reflect on our own life, action and our wellbeing physically and mentally both. It will eventually put us on a path of mindfulness and mindful living.

When we lead a no nonsense life we often push ourselves towards “becoming the best version of ourselves”. By practicing meditation, learning new skills, reflecting on inner self.

This makes our life more thoughtful and meaningful.

4.Enhances Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence is an ability to understand, regulate and manage our emotions and the emotions of others. Emotional intelligence plays a huge role in our personal and professional life. It improves our relationship with ourselves and also with family, workplace. Makes us a more awake, productive person.

This might be possible only when we are strongly maintaining boundaries by saying no to no nonsense in our life.

This leads to enhanced emotional stability and gives us more power to control our emotions and reactions.

5.Improve Mental Wellbeing

When we say yes to everyone for everything. We unknowingly engaged our mind in a “thinking loop”. Where we constantly think of others… like should I refrain from doing this, this might offend them?

Then we opt for a safe passage; we repress our own thoughts and ignore our mental wellbeing. This leads to a “cognitive dissonance” situation, where our actions do not match with our thoughts. This puts unnecessary pressure on our mind and also has a negative impact on our mental wellbeing.

So, It is always better to say no to nonsense for our mental peace. Which should be the top most priority of you in this modern era of distraction and digitalization.

6. Enhances Credibility

Credibility is the trustworthiness of someone or to what extent a person can be trusted. When a person says no to nonsense straightforwardly, he or she becomes credible. One who is worthy of respect and trust.

Saying no in clear terms may hurt the opposite person for a short period of time. But in the long run he always respects the decision of saying no. Because instead of performing a task half-heartly or giving false hope to anyone is more painful than stabbing.

That's why people often respect the person who says no to nonsense. This automatically enhances the person's credibility.

7. Reduces Stress in life

Do you ever give a thought to the “power of saying no”? You won't realize how drastically it reduces stress levels in your life. Simply saying no has an immense significance.
Because in our life, we often take ourselves less seriously and less likely to take stress for the things that we have to do for ourselves.

But, when it comes to others… we can't remain stress free. We take so much pressure to fulfill the commitment, afterall it is about our image, our reputation.

If by chance we are not able to fulfill the task timely.. We are going to get labels. For example lazy, irresponsible etc.

And we are most afraid of labels. This is one of the reasons for stress.

That's why say no to nonsense, save yourself from labelling and remain stress free.

Now, it's your turn to say no to nonsense

At first, it is always going to be very difficult to say no to nonsense. Because,to an extent we also enjoy drama and engagement in our lives. When we are free we get bored.

But trust me, once you get the courage to say no, you will realize how much of your energy, time and peace is going into vain.

Life is much more than listening to voices, serving others and performing duty and tasks which are exhausting for us like anything else.
Thus, come out from the self made “yes man's loop” and start analyzing your actions as per your own needs and desires.

Remember, whatever you do? How much do you do? People are always going to label you.

They are going to pass like wind in your life. Ultimately, only you have to remain with yourself, so preserve your time, energy and peace for yourself.

And say yes to life…there are much more interesting things and engagements for us.
