The life lessons you will wish you learned sooner
The word “success” has a diverse connotation attached to it. Success has different meanings for different people in different situations.
But something common to all is passion for it, hunger to achieve breakthrough and guts to move forward despite setbacks.
But, to achieve success, we have to bend ourselves in such a way, where we have to follow certain good things and more importantly unfollow bad things.
Here everybody has some idea about what to follow to achieve success in life. For example: do hard work, utilizes your time and resources efficiently, focus on goals… . so on.
But, when it comes to what to unfollow? We rarely have any idea.
Sometimes we unknowingly do certain things which are increasing the distance between us and our success.
And the amazing thing is that we don't even realize or notice our self sabotaging habits or doing.
We all have a tendency to overthink over tiny matters. We either overthink about the past or about future uncertainties. This causes us to live in our head more than in the present moment.
So, start living in the present moment, because that is all we have and that is where we have to focus and work upon to succeed in life, as yesterday has already become past and tomorrow is yet to come.
People are here to say something, irrespective of whatever you are doing. You do not need to take them personally and seriously.
If you want to succeed in life, sometimes you have to be delusional. You are not supposed to get distracted by people's opinions and change your path.
Remember people are different, they pursue success in different fields, and face different kinds of struggles. But struggle is common to all.
Here, you do not need to compare your life and your journey of success with others.
We often restrict ourselves to venture into the unknown, as there is significant risk attached to it. And also nobody else walks on that path. This leads to killing our dream of success before we begin.
Thus, stop being afraid to explore new ideas. If nobody dared to do it…neither iPhones, nor space stations, nor the internet ever existed. The list is very long. But I hope you got the point.
Stop having self doubt about your potential. Nobody born genius, nobody born learned. We all develop our potential by learning, by failing, by trying again… .
People are there to handle their matter, they have an in-depth understanding about their issues and solutions. You don't need to invest your time and energy there.
Various studies and successful people also suggest that if you do not take action within 5-10 seconds of your thought, you are likely to procrastinate things further.
This becomes instrumental in our failures.
Whether it could be physical or mental. Both are different sides of the same coin. Physical health provides energy to perform tasks and to hustle in life, while mental health recharges us by keeping us tension and pressure free and also powers us to gear up for new targets. Good mental health also brings clarity by filtering out unnecessary things.
Negative self talk often destroys us and our dreams. By having negative self-talk we not only lose our confidence in ourselves but also lose trust in ourselves and our ability and capabilities to achieve what we want to?
Thus, forbid self criticism and negative self talk and replace it with self compassion and positive self talk. That's what is necessary to succeed in life.
See failures as a “stepping stone” in your journey of success. They are speed breakers not your destinations.
Because if you are afraid of the failures you are not going to take any single step towards success in life.
Shortcuts often lend you short term success. Then why to waste energy and time, be visionary… see long term success. Don't get overwhelmed by short success, play the long term game by working hard and moving swiftly but smartly.
There is no age to success or success is ageless.
Just because you are in your 40s, 50s or in 60s. You are not not able to succeed is nothing…but bullshit.
If you still have doubts, see the history of successful people. You will get your answers.
Perfection is a myth. As it drives its definition from people's opinions. And opinions are opinions, they are not universal truth. So, the definition of perfection can be changed as per opinions.
Whether it could be food, clothes or information. Overconsumption destroys your health, your budgets and your mind.
As it focuses on saving rather than consumption.
Start valuing money and money will respect you. Being extravagant causes nothing but collection of unnecessary things, that's not why we want to achieve success.
You are not here to serve others or you are not here to live for others. Your life is yours, start saying no to things and people who are not contributing to your success.
Whether it could be your family or friends. Success seems success because of them. If they are not with you then, it is all worth less.
Our support system is like our backbone, if it is not there we become spineless.
Though hard work is important, it only fills your stomach, not your pocket.
So, instead of working hard, focus on working smartly.
That's what real success brings to us.
Stop complaining and start accepting life. Situations are not going to occur as per your convenience. Not everything that happens in your life is in your control.
That's when success shows up.
Success doesn't necessarily bring happiness, but happiness does bring success. Being happy makes your journey beautiful, you don't have to wait for success to live your life.
Stop giving up in life…due to problems, rather face them. Because wherever you go, in whichever field you try… problems are inevitable.
So, why to avoid problems, face them, identify their solutions and make success yours.
Success seems easy when you know what to eliminate from your life then to add.
